Week 1’s blog topic is to write a small biography about yourself and add a photo or drawing. These will be due online (on this blog) by 10:35AM, Tuesday, February 3, 2015.

Please get free access to the following online course by clicking here and then the “take this course” button in the upper right corner. Once you are in the course, please view lectures 77, 78, and 79 before making your first blog post.

Blogging is easy and only intimidating if you have never done it before. The first post is always the hardest and the goal is more to familiarize yourself with posting and the general features of WordPress more than anything else at this point.

In order to post, you first need to do the following. (Please do this ASAP.)

  1. Click here and fill out the form. It asks if you want your own blog, but all you really need is a username to access the Media, Art, and Social Activism Blog.
  2. Send me a quick email telling me your username to k.palana@aur.edu .
  3. Wait for permission to be granted for you to become an author (give me a day or two at the latest) and voilà, you can start posting to  the site.

Before Posting:
IMPORTANT- Please Read this first! Writing Posts on WordPress
It will tell you everything you need to know to get started. For adding an image, look at: Using Images in Posts

-And finally, to control how much of your post is visible on the home page (and to add a “keep reading” link),  Use the “More” tag.

Good luck. We look forward to your posts. Don’t forget to tag (feel free to add your own) and categorize (Spring 2015 Student Posts) your posts.
